Maidstone Centre | Kent Adult Education

Centre information

Built between 1561 and 1577 by Maidstone MP Nicholas Barham, St Faiths is one of the oldest and most interesting Kent Adult Education buildings. Pop in for a Coffee and have a look around. Look for the old photo in reception that was taken at the time the cornerstone was laid for the later extension. The site was once a science and art school which officially opened on 16th October 1894.

The St Faiths Maidstone Centre offers a range of courses in a truly impressive building right in the centre of Town. There is a wonderful Art room with excellent natural light and an atmosphere of a true Artist’s studio, there are craft rooms and a fully equipped Pottery with all you need to take you from a lump of clay to a beautifully decorated ceramic treasure.

There is a Fitness and Wellbeing studio where you can exercise or find your inner calm. Along with all of this St Faiths offers a good range of accredited courses such as Bookkeeping, Counselling, and British sign language. There is also a dedicated centre offering English and maths.
