Are you new to bookkeeping, or do you already work in a bookkeeping/data processing role but are unfamiliar with manual bookkeeping skills? Then this 'Bookkeeping Introduction - Taster' course is for you.
This short course has been designed as an introduction for those considering a bookkeeping qualification and aims to provide you with an outline of the study of bookkeeping and some key principles.
At the end of the course your tutor will be able to suggest your next steps, either a recommendation to study for the AAT Level 1 qualification or a referral to our Skills courses.
**Please Note: Our courses can enrol early and we cannot guarantee the availability of places on our autumn AAT Level 1 or Skills courses at the end of this course.**
How will I be taught?
The course will be taught in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Your tutor will use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles to support you in achieving your goals. Your individual needs will be taken into consideration.
Throughout the course, your tutor will give you verbal feedback on your progress.
What do I need to have with me?
You will need a pen, paper, a calculator (not one built into a mobile phone) and a ruler.

This course is aimed at those who are new to the skills and knowledge required of bookkeepers. It is suitable for those considering studying the 'AAT Access Award In Bookkeeping Level 1' course. In addition, it is suitable for students preparing for employment in bookkeeping roles and also those who are already employed in bookkeeping and/or data processing roles.
Please note that you should be able to follow spoken and written instructions, read handouts/activities and take part in group discussions as required.
