Using a variety of coloured pencil techniques you will spend the day learning to paint and draw accurately seasonal plants and flowers. This course is suitable for all levels and is a good introduction into colour mixing, drawing from life/observation and learning watercolour techniques. You will during the day identify the colours in the flowers and replicate these in your drawings using coloured pencils.
How will I be taught?
Tutors will use a variety of teaching methods including demonstrations, one to one guidance, group discussions and critiques. You will look at the work of contemporary and historical artists and you will keep a sketchbook/notebook and individual learning plan (ILP) to record goals, ideas, processes and progress. You will undertake critical reflection and evaluation and be motivated to develop creative skills and enhance/develop personal skills.
What do I need to bring with me?
A good cartridge paper A4 sized painting sketch book, and a good set of watercolour pencils. You will also need to have suitable pencils and a clean de-labeled jar for water. Please bring a long anything you think could be suitable and the tutor will talk you through what you need as the course progresses.
