Learn how to paint and draw holly and ivy in coloured pencil or watercolour or a mixture of the 2. You will mix and matching colours to the subject, using a variety of techniques to draw accurately and will also use layering to add depth and focus when portraying the detail.
The tutor for this course will guide you through:
What to look for to help you when making your drawings
Consider the composition of the image on the paper
Colour matching your materails to your plant or flower
Drawing and the use of line for accuracy

How will I be taught?

Tutors will use a variety of teaching methods including demonstrations, one to one guidance, group discussions and critiques. You will look at the work of contemporary and historical artists and you will keep a sketchbook/notebook to record goals, ideas, processes and progress.

What do I need to bring with me?

A4 Hot-pressed watercolour paper, HB pencil and eraser, and coloured pencils and/or watercolour paints . You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements.
If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you.

What do I need to join the course

An interest in producing beautiful and accurate drawings of plants and have some or no experience in the subject. All students are welcome on the course.
