Botanical Art - Watercolour - A Day of Spring Flowers

Using a variety of watercolour techniques you will spend the day learning to paint and draw accurately seasonal spring flowers. This course is suitable for all levels and is a good introduction into colour mixing, drawing from life/observation and learning watercolour techniques. You will during the day identify the colours in the flowers and replicate these in your drawings using watercolour paint.

How will I be taught?

Tutors will use a variety of teaching methods including demonstrations, one to one guidance, group discussions and critiques. You will look at the work of contemporary and historical artists and you will keep a sketchbook/notebook to record goals, ideas, processes and progress.

What do I need to bring with me?

You will need a good quality A4 watercolour paper sketchbook and watercolour paints and brushes. You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost.
If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you.

An interest in producing beautiful and accurate drawings of plants that are seasonally based.
