This summer school will continue to teach you how to observe and produce beautiful drawings of plants and flowers with more complex use of colour and plants over two days. The tutor will set projects but also be led by the you in the selection of plants and flowers for the course.
The tutor for this course will continue to guide you through:
Considering the composition of the image on the paper
Colour matching your palette to your plant or flower
Drawing and the use of line for accuracy
Help with the further understanding of plant biology
This is a very considered Art that can help you produce drawings to be proud of.
How will I be taught?
Tutors will use a variety of teaching methods including demonstrations, one to one guidance, group discussions and critiques. You will look at the work of contemporary and historical artists and you will keep a sketchbook/notebook to record goals, ideas, processes and progress. You will undertake critical reflection and evaluation and be motivated to develop creative skills and enhance/develop personal skills.
What do I need to bring with me?
You will need an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and ring bound and a variety of pencils. Please have ready along any materials/equipment that might you think maybe appropriate.

What do I need to join the course
An interest in producing beautiful and accurate drawings of plants and flowers and have some experience in the subject.
All students are welcome on the course who are not a beginner to working with plants and flowers and have access to a PC or laptop as the course is run through online through Zoom.
