This is an online course delivered using Zoom, in real time with live interaction with your tutor and fellow learners.

Have you ever wanted to make your own bread? If you would like to gain confidence to bake bread at home, this is the course for you. Flour, water, yeast, salt and time is all you need and on this one day course as you will be taken step by step through the process of baking a loaf of bread. Because it is a live course you will be able to work alongside your tutor through each stage of the bread making process, learning and gaining tips as you go. From mixing, to kneading, to proving, to baking, every step will be covered and at the end of the day you will have baked a loaf of bread.

This course is open to complete beginners and you will be shown how to make a basic bloomer loaf. Good bread takes time and so to fill the waiting time through the day you will also make a pizza whilst waiting for your dough to prove. You will be sent a list of the relevant ingredients and equipment needed for the course closer to the time but you will only be using equipment most people have at home already and nothing specialist will be required.

At the end of the day students will be able to:
- Bake a white bloomer loaf of bread
- Bake a cheese and tomato margherita pizza
- Recall the steps needed for baking a loaf of bread
- Recognise ingredients and equipment needed for successful bread making
