This online course is for adults who have not completed any Kent Adult Education courses since August 1st 2021.

These FREE community courses are engagement courses, intended to encourage learning for personal and community development, cultural enrichment, intellectual or creative inspiration and for enjoyment.

Once completed, you can then progress onto other Kent Adult Education courses.

Please note, enrolments will close 1 week before the course starts.

Who is the tutor?

About the Tutor: Sian Lewis

Siân Lewis is a designer and textile artist. She studied fashion at the Royal College of Art and Ravensbourne College of Art and Design and has10 years experience of designing and making competition dancewear including for Strictly Come Dancing. She has worked on costumes for TV, stage and film and has been teaching textiles and art since 2008. Sian is currently developing her own range of textile prints and accessories.

How will I be taught?

This is an online course delivered using Zoom, in real time with live interaction with your tutor and fellow learners. You will join the class from home and be able to exchange and interact with other learners as they would in the classroom (speaking and listening).
There will be discussion and demonstration. You will have opportunities to discuss and ask questions - this is an interactive course with the Tutor present throughout.

What do I need to have with me?

Laptop, tablet or Smart phone with the Zoom app installed. There is no subscription required.
Hand sewing will be fine for this course however, if you have access to a sewing machine that will also be suitable.
Hand sewing needle and thread or sewing machine.
Pencil and ruler.
Ribbon or fabric tape to make a 1.5 metre length of bunting
