Christmas Flowers with Julie Davies

Day of week:
Canterbury Adult Education Centre, Canterbury
Mixed Level
10:00 - 12:00
4 weeks

Do you fancy doing something a bit different with your Christmas flowers this year?
Christmas is the perfect time to decorate your home with beautiful floral arrangements. This course will share with you how to create flower arrangements for every part of your home – whether it’s a small flat, or a family home.

If you’ve arranged flowers before this course will help inspire you to adapt your skills to create a fresh pared-back Scandi-inspired look. Think minimal greenery, limited colours and flowers (reds and white work really well), lots of natural materials – moss, lichen-covered twigs and so on. Say goodbye to your Christmas flowers of yesteryear and welcome in the new.

You’ll need to bring your own scissors or secateurs, flowers, greenery and mechanics (that’s flower foam, containers and so on - some of these will be available to buy from the tutor, by prior arrangement).

By the end of this course you’ll have created:
- advent candle table arrangement
- vase arrangement with Christmas trimmings
- Christmas table arrangement
- super-stylish, minimal-look Christmas wreath to hang indoors, or outside

There is no homework requirement for the course, but you will need to provide your own flowers for class each week.

Students should budget £10-15 per session for flowers. Buying flowers from the supermarket and supplementing these with greenery from your garden is a cost effective way of providing the necessary course materials.

Mechanics will be available to purchase week by week from the tutor – floral foam, dishes, and so on.

This course will be taught by Julie Davies flower workshops – Julie is an awarding winning florist – BFA Florist Tutor of the year 2016.
