As in all counselling courses, a large element of the work is based on practical learning and observation in skills practice and involves a real commitment to personal development and self-awareness; often the course continues to provide students with a life-changing experience.
Our Level 3 Counselling Studies Certificate CPCAB course: ,

Who is the tutor?
About the Tutor: Linda Davis
How will I be taught?
This course will involve full student participation and deep self-reflection. There will be personal and sensitive discussions in small and large groups, group activities, role plays and pair or triad (groups of three) work followed by observer feedback. Assessment will be by weekly reflective learning journal and the observation of practical skills demonstrated during the course. You will also be asked to complete an assignment and/or research project/presentation. There is also an external exam set by CPCAB which is usually taken at the end of the course.
What do I need to bring with me?
A4 Ring binder with dividers, notebook and pen. You will be provided with a Student Book if you didn't study Level 2 with us previously.
What can I do next?
Upon completion of Counselling Studies Certificate CPCAB Level 3 (CST-L3) you may progress to the Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, which qualifies you to be a Counsellor in an agency or set up a private practice. Details of the Level 4 course can be found on www.cpcab.co.uk. We offer the CPCAB L4 Diploma over 2 years. Ask your tutor for details or visit www.kentadulteducation.co.uk.
What do I need to join the course
If you are NOT one of KAE's progressing Level 2 students, you will need to complete an online application form available at this link -
https://forms.office.com/r/1rhFK0mcfr.
Following submission of your application, you will then need to make arrangements to complete the online literacy assessment at this link - https://forms.office.com/r/7wJvjRj30L. This checks your suitability for the course and helps identify any additional support required.
You will then be contacted within 2-3 weeks) to arrange an online interview. The interview involves an informal and honest discussion with a Counselling tutor about your personal readiness, the content and level of the course and ensures that you understand the personal, educational and financial commitments.
If you are an existing Counselling Skills Level 2 (CSK-L2) student with Kent Adult Education, your tutor will make a recommendation as to whether you are ready to progress to Level 3 at the end of your Level 2 course. If you are approved you will be given evidence of this so you can enrol without going through the application process.
This course is for applicants who want to take the next step in training to become a Counsellor. You will need to have successfully completed the CPCAB Counselling Skills Certificate Level 2 (CSK-L2) course or equivalent units/qualifications of at least 75 guided learning hours. To be successful in all aspects of this course, it is recommended that you don't enrol if you have undergone a life-changing experience during the last 12 months as there is a high expectation for personal self-reflection on past life experiences.
You can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to help fund this course. However, there will be a separate fee to pay direct to Adult Education which is not covered by the loan. Please ask for further information.
