This is an online course delivered using Zoom, in real time with live interaction with your tutor and fellow learners

This courses forms part of a series of sessions mental health and development. Emotional Intelligence is something that really support good mental health. Discover what it is, have you got it, how can it help, how can you develop it further to support your interactions with others throughout life.

This course is educational rather than therapeutic. General broad ideas will be shared and discussed amongst the group. Whilst there could be some sharing of personal experiences, this course is not a replacement for personal therapy and this element will be carefully managed by the tutor.

How will I be taught?

The course will be delivered online using Zoom. The tutor will use learner-centred teaching in a supportive environment, aiming to help students develop their skills and increase their knowledge. We will use a range of discussion, case studies, questionnaires and audio/visual methods to explore the topic.

There are opportunities to discuss the content with the tutor, who can provide feedback and suggestions.

This is an introductory course, so you are not expected to bring any knowledge, but we will be interested to find out how much you have gained from the course by the end.

What do I need to have with me?

Pen and paper for notes might be useful but we advise students not to purchase equipment, books or materials until after the first session of the course unless otherwise stated.

What do I need to join the course

Anybody can join the course. You will need access to a computer/laptop/tablet/iPad/Smartphone with internet connection to attend classes via Zoom. You will be sent a Zoom link on the morning of the course, so you can access the course. Zoom is free to access.
