Who is the tutor?

About the Tutor: Victoria Wainwright

Victoria Wainwright is a professional Artist and Illustrator specialising in pen and ink and printmaking but with a varied background in illustration techniques and briefs. She regularly undertakes commission work where illustration is a feature, and has illustrated a number of published books. Victoria's main interest is in drawing people, capturing their movement and character.

How will I be taught?

This course will be delivered online. Students will join the class from home and be able to exchange and in interact with other learners as they would in the classroom (speaking, listening, writing in the chat box). This measure is dictated by circumstances.
Each class will commence with clear learning outcomes and usually a tutor demonstration, taking you step by step through the process.
You and your tutor will monitor and assess your progress to ensure your learning needs are being met.

What do I need to have with me?

Please have to hand whatever watercolours you have including red, yellow and blue ( eg Ultramarine or prussian blue, alizarin or cadmium red, cadmium or lemon yellow), watercolour paper ( preferably 300 grams) any brushes you have eg a round brush ( size 8 to 12) and any of the following if you have them , some salt ( coarse or fine), a toothpick, clingfilm , natural sponge, pastels or inks.

What do I need to join the course

An interest and enthusaism in learning to draw and paint - everyone is welcome to join this course, no experience is needed, designed to be a fun and experimental day with watercolours.

You can access the class from your computer equipped with a camera and a microphone, from a laptop (where the camera and microphone should be built-in), a tablet or a smartphone. Before each lesson, the tutor may send you by email essential lesson information/handouts for you to consult in advance, and before the class starts, the tutor will have sent you by email an invitation to join, which will be a simple weblink to click.
