This is an online course delivered using Zoom, in real time with live interaction with your tutor and fellow learners.
Learn about contemporary jewellery and silversmithing practice. On this virtual course your tutor will deliver short lectures on a number of practising contemporary jewellers and silversmiths, exploring their approach, techniques and technologies they use to create.
We will discuss and reflect on the concepts and narratives behind their work as well as looking at their design process and how their work is exhibited.
The course will be tutor lead, but also largely based around group discussion and reflection on what we can learn by studying contemporary jewellery and how this can develop our own studio practice.
By the end of the course you will be able to:
Identify a number of current contemporary jewellers and silversmiths.
Explore and explain through discussion a variety of contemporary jewellers and silversmiths concepts and technical processes.
