This course will be held at St Faiths Adult Education Centre, Maidstone.
Students will learn how to play basic chord shapes using the left hand (right hand if you are left handed). You will use these chords to play a range of songs to build up confidence and speed when changing chords.
Who is the tutor?
About the Tutor: Chris Woods
Chris Woods teaches infants full time at Archbishop Courtenay Primary School in Maidstone. He has been playing guitar for 40 years and himself learnt to play at evening classes in London. His tastes in music are varied. He has taught in adult education for nearly 30 years now and finds it very rewarding being able to pass on his skills and encourage others to be able to enjoy and play a musical instrument.
How will I be taught?
You will be taught as a group with demonstrations, and one to one feedback.
You will receive regular feedback throughout the course.
What do I need to bring with me?
Please bring to the first class:- An acoustic guitar, an electric guitar is not suitable.
Following consultation with the tutor you may need a capo and wish to buy a music stand.
What can I do next?
The Improvers course. Enrol early as places cannot be guaranteed.
What do I need to join the course
This course is designed for students who have not played guitar before or for those who need to reinforce basic skills.
