1 week will focus on continental Kings
3 weeks will focus on the 5 bad English kings highlighted in 1066 forward
Who is the tutor?
About the Tutor: Richard Marsden
Richard has taught for Kent Adult Education for a number of years. He has an MA (Cantab) and a BA (Hons) in Modern and Medieval Languages. His mother is French and he has family connections in France and he also knows Latin. He is a keen amateur local historian with a particular interest in the traditional buildings of Kent.
How will I be taught?
The classes will be delivered via Zoom and be slide-based. We will use as much contemporary material as possible, combined with modern analysis and literary evidence, to tell the story and understand the motives and lives of men and women on both sides.
Questions and discussions are always welcome to develop understanding of the subject and help reflecting on other periods of History and other parts of the world.
What do I need to have with me?
Handouts will be provided; students should bring a folder or file for handouts and notes, and writing materials

Anyone with an interest in medieval history of England and the European context. New students welcome.
