This is an online course delivered using Zoom, in real time with live interaction with your tutor and fellow learners.
When it is considered safe to do so, we will be looking at moving this course from online to the Sevenoaks centre
The course looks at basic design theory, colour, texture, pattern , balance. You will work from an individual source to produce original ideas.
You will learn how to draw a scale plan with colour elevation, produce a mood board and a sample board with emphasis on creativity.
We look at colour combinations, lighting, textiles, paints.
The final outcome will be a well designed room, complete with plans, elevations and swatches.
There is a small amount of homework or research to do in preparation for each lesson.

How will I be taught?
This course will be delivered online. Students will join the class from home and be able to exchange and in interact with other learners as they would in the classroom (speaking, listening, writing in the chat box). This measure is dictated by circumstances.
You will be taught in a very practical hands-on way, using lots of resources. You will be involved in group work, working with a partner and on individual projects. You will be allowed to experiment, try new ideas and be creative. It is important to note that craft courses are practical and require a degree of manual dextrerity. Students will need to participate fully to get the most out of the course.
You will have plenty of verbal feedback and support from the tutor. You will photograph your work as your progress. You will build a portfolio of your room project
