Do you want to be able to speak Italian at a basic level when visiting Italy?
This virtual classroom based Beginners course will be a sample of our Beginners courses. you will be in a classroom with a very supportive tutor and learn some basics of the language.
After this session you will be able to:
- Exchange simple greetings
- Give/receive simple information about self and others

Who is the tutor?

About the Tutor: Anna Laila Pace

Anna Laila is an experienced tutor with a passion for languages, art, fashion, food and wines.
She worked in the food and wine sector for several years where she learned much about wine appreciation as well as commercial aspects such as import and distribution.
She also worked in the fashion industry in Italy and London where she was the account manager to a well-known designer and was able to further her interest in the creative process.
She has taught French, Italian and English abroad and since moving to Tunbridge Wells has been teaching for Kent Adult Education

How will I be taught?

This course will be delivered online. Students will join the class from home and be able to exchange and in interact with other learners as they would in the classroom (speaking, listening, writing in the chat box). This measure is dictated by circumstances and the course will be delivered back in the classroom as soon as possible. The focus will be on oral communication (speaking and listening) and some reading and writing will also be included. Pronunciation and Italian culture are an integral part of the course.

What do I need to bring with me?

Pen and paper. If you have some postcards or anything related to Italy please feel free to share it with the classroom.

After this Try course you can enrol to any of our Beginners courses. We offer Modular courses which are shorter and very flexible or longer beginner courses in the day or evening. Please enquire with our front desk or check

What do I need to join the course

This course is for students who are complete Beginners have completed the Beginners.
If you are unsure carry out our self-assessment test available on The assessment provides a score to help you chose the best course for you. If still unsure, speak to us or to a Curriculum Leader.You can access the class from your computer equipped with a camera and a microphone, from a laptop (where the camera and microphone should be built-in), a tablet or a smartphone. Before each lesson, the tutor may send you by email essential lesson information/handouts for you to consult in advance, and before the class starts, the tutor will have sent you by email an invitation to join, which will be a simple weblink to click.
