By the end of the course, successful students will be able to:
• exchange information about self, work and life
• express likes and dislikes / agreements and disagreements
• exchange information about past events
• describe appearance and personalities
• explain simple health problems
• make arrangements using the simple future

You will be given homework to reinforce classroom learning.

How will I be taught?

This course will be delivered online. Students will join the class from home and be able to exchange and in interact with other learners as they would in the classroom (speaking, listening, writing in the chat box). This measure is dictated by circumstances and the course will be delivered back in the classroom as soon as possible. The emphasis on this course is on listening and speaking. The lesson focus on language that is required in authentic situations. To help you develop language skills the course will be conducted mainly in the foreign language. You will work through different activities individually, in pairs and in small groups, using a variety of learning methods and resources (role-play, games…). To ensure your progression, it is essential to attend on a regular basis. We also recommend that you spend 1 – 2 h each week doing private study as directed by your tutor.
With your tutor, you will monitor and record your progress on your learning plan (ILP)

What do I need to have with me?

The course book will be discussed at the first session if appropriate. Students will need to bring a pen and paper and an A4 ring binder for handouts, although we advise students not to buy anything until after the first session.
