Have you always wanted to learn to knit? This short, three week Beginner’s course in Ashford will teach you the basic techniques, including:
• Cast on and off
• Knit and purl stitch
• Garter stitch, stocking stitch and rib
• Increase and decrease
• How to read a pattern
Each week, you will work towards completing a small project which will expand your skills. You will work from knitting patterns and identify and discuss common abbreviations and terms; yarn types and weights and the most appropriate equipment to use depending on project.

How will I be taught?
The Tutor will use a variety of teaching methods including demonstration, instructions and one-to-one tutorial guidance.
What do I need to bring with me?
The yarn and equipment will be provided for you for use in the first lesson, at an additional cost of no more than £5. Advice will then be given about what will be required for subsequent lessons.
