This is an online course delivered using Zoom, in real time, with live interaction with your tutor and fellow learners.

This is an experiential course exploring a variety of techniques to meditate, to relax and to enhance awareness.

Successful students will learn how to:
1) Sit in a posture suitable for meditation
2) Develop an awareness of breathing and the body through a variety of mindful exercises, including relaxation.
3) Use visualisation, inner listening and breath awareness to develop meditation

Who is the tutor?

About the Tutor: Dawn Lavell

Dawn Lavell has studied, practised and taught yoga for Adult Education since 1994, focusing on experiential anatomy, movement repatterining and embodiment of the deeper teachings of yoga.

She will invite a calm, easy flow of breath that takes us into a state of quietness and lightness, by offering a series of simple positions, which will assist in relaxation, strength, stamina and spinal alignment.

My wish is for you to become agile, calm and energetic, in short, to get you into better health.

How will I be taught?

Some of the session will involve discussion about Mindfulness and the present moment and there will be guided exercises which will give students the opportunity to learn the skills and techniques involved.

We will encourage students to practice the learned techniques regularly and share any information regarding the technique that they may have already acquired.

Information and instruction for each session is outlined separately to enable the student to be informed and make their attendance decision and to keep track of their progress through a course.

What do I need to have with me?

Bring a notebook and pen. You will use a yoga mat and blanket during the course, but do not buy these as there may be some available to borrow.
