This Mental Health First Aid course aims aims to equip people to improve and increase knowledge, skills and understanding of Mental Health and Wellbeing. You will be taught how to identify, understand and help a person who may be developing a mental health issue. In the same way as we learn physical first aid, Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to recognise those crucial warning signs of mental ill health
By the end of the course you'll be able to:
- Define mental health and some common mental health issues
- Understand factors that affect mental health
- Identify stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health issues
- Feel more confident about starting mental health conversations
- Take action to look after your own mental health

What do I need to join the course
Anybody can join the course, no previous experience is necessary. It is ideal for anybody dealing with the public, managing staff or working in the health industry or just to raise your own self-awareness of mental health conditions and how it affects people. You will become more confident to help somebody having diffficulties by starting a conversation about mental health and sign-posting them for support.
