Mindful movement is the development of the ability to pay deliberate attention to our experience from moment to moment, to what is going on in our mind and body from day to day.
The emphasis will be on improving the physical condition and wellbeing of each student and the potential benefits will be explained. After discussing the method of meditation and how it works, students will be shown how to meditate together.
You will need to be able to follow verbal instructions, observe and copy physical movements and use spatial awareness within a group. By the end of this course you should be able to:
Identify a range of mindfulness practices.
Identify ways in which mindfulness may be helpful for you.
Describe some key underlying principles of mindfulness.
Identify how to take this work forward if you want to.
To assist us in providing a safe and healthy environment for you to exercise you will be asked to complete a Confidential Health Questionnaire. If you have suffered from any of the conditions listed, please check with a medical practitioner to find out whether this course is suitable for you.
