This course is comprehensive and sets out to be interesting and enjoyable with a supportive critique at the end of each project. You will use collage, water and oil based paints, charcoal and coloured pencils to create artwork throughout the course.
How will I be taught?
Tutors will use a variety of teaching methods including demonstrations, one to one guidance, group discussions and critiques. You will look at the work of contemporary and historical artists and you will keep a sketchbook/notebook and individual learning plan (ILP) to record goals, ideas, processes and progress. You will undertake critical reflection and evaluation and be motivated to develop creative skills and enhance/develop personal skills.
What do I need to have with me?
If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. However, all students should have an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and ring bound and a variety of pencils.
You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please have them with you.
