This is an online course delivered using Zoom, in real time with live interaction with your tutor and fellow learners.
This is course module B,
Do you want to be able to speak Portuguese at the basic level when visiting Portuguese speaking countries? This classroom based Beginners Modular course is for you because we know that it is difficult to learn a language on your own. , Exchanging face to face with your tutor and other students will give you the opportunity to practice speaking in Portuguese with other learners and develop your language skills further., We want to give you a flexibility of choice so you can join at the start of each module or complete the three modules A, B and C .
Each module will have an introductory session.

- Shop for items around the place you visit/live,
Grammar will be studied. You will learn to use expressions and forms appropriate to the language using the present tense, gender, prepositions, adjectives. You will be given small amounts of homework (1 hour max) each week to reinforce classroom learning.

How will I be taught?
The focus will be on oral communication (speaking and listening) and some reading and writing will also be included. Pronunciation and Portuguese culture are an integral part of the course. The course will be conducted mainly in the foreign appropriate language to your level. Learners will work through different activities individually, in pairs and in small groups, using a variety of learning methods and resources (role-play and games etc). Homework set will provide and opportunity for self study including the use of on-line resources., Initial assessment will be carried out at the beginning of the course to assess individual skill level. Each student's starting point will be recorded on an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and targets will be set. This will be revisited from time to time during the course to monitor and record progress. Tutors will mark homework and give written or verbal feedback.
What do I need to have with me?
The course book will be discussed at the first session if appropriate. Students will need to bring a pen and paper and an A4 ring binder for handouts, although we advise students not to buy anything until after the first session.
What can I do next?
After completing module Module B you can continue with a module C or a Beginners Steps to Conversation. The completion of the latter will lead to study in a Beginners Plus course. The tutor will be able to advise or check www.kentadulteducation.co.uk
What do I need to join the course
Module B, This Beginners course is for students who have some little knowledge of the language, have studied other languages in the past, travelled to the country where the language is spoken, attended other short beginners Portuguese courses and thus can greet and introduce themselves at basic level and want to keep learning at a Beginners level.
