This course is an introduction to printmaking. You will gain experience and explore a variety of different printmaking techniques, participating in different workshops each term. These will include monoprint, lino cut, collagraph and stencil screen print. You will undertake a variety of printmaking processes through a series of personal projects and experiments. , , By the end of this course you should be able to :-, Understand and apply basic printmaking principals, Confidently prepare ink and blocks ready for printing., Produce a variety of different print samples., Work on a personal print making project using techniques taught on the course.,

About the Tutor: Tina Ryan
Tina Ryan is a practicing artist who specialises in fine art and print making. She completed her degree at Chelsea School of Art. Tina has collaborated with & sold designs to Levi’s & worked as an artist for textile companies drawing botanicals for their fabric designs.
She has exhibited at Premier Vision (Paris) and Tendence (Frankfurt) and ICFF (New York).
Her teaching career started in Kent teaching Art at Secondary School level and more recently has work in partnership with Ideas Test & Intra Arts delivering craft workshops in schools for the Rochester Festival of Light.
Tina loves drawing from life & uses these drawings in all her art practices. Her classes have a friendly & relaxed atmosphere.
How will I be taught?
This course will be taught using a variety of teaching methods including demonstrations, instruction, one to one guidance and group discussions., , Students will be encouraged to share ideas throughout the course., , Please let us know if you require special learning support to enable you to take part in this course.,
What do I need to bring with me?
Please along bring paper for printing, paper scissors, a ruler, sketchbook or notebook, pencil and masking tape. As the course continues you will need to buy any specialist paper for printing. The tutor will advise on these at the first session.

What do I need to join the course
This course is suitable for all levels. All are welcome and everyone will be encouraged to achieve their full potential working on a project suitable for their previous experience. Please note as with all our craft courses, good manual dexterity is needed. This course at Maidstone is for anyone who would like to learn basic print making techniques or is looking for inspiration for their creative journey.
