Textiles - Folk Bird Tree with Anne Kelly - Online Live

Day of week:
Real time Online
Mixed Level
10:00 - 12:00
3 weeks

Using folk art motifs as inspiration, the aim is to produce a folk art themed tree piece with birds and flowers as decoration. Using simple collage techniques and hand and/or machine stitching, it will then be added to with lace, ribbon and further embellishment. At the end of the three week course you should have a piece that you can finish by hand.
Hunt through your collections to find folk art inspired fabrics, old embroidered snippets of tea cloths or handkerchiefs – also any ‘folk themed’ images that inspire you.
It’s helpful to think about colours and choose some that you would like to work with on the project

The tutor Anne Kelly is an artist, and author of ‘Connected Cloth’ and ‘Textile Nature’. She plans to share with you during this short course her love of fabric and stitch.
