How will I be taught?
The lessons include a range of fresh ideas and samples and most sessions involve some tutor input, which triggers a short, individual writing task that is then shared with the whole group - for brief but helpful advice. The other part of the lesson normally concentrates on work-shopping lengthier writing produced at home, and these classes are generous with feedback and ways to improve writing and the related skills. All classes are supportive, friendly and relaxed - yet also suitably creative and challenging.
Initial assessment will be carried out at the beginning of the course to assess individual skill level. Each student' s starting point will be recorded on an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and targets will be set. This will be revisited from time to time during the course to monitor and record progress. Tutors will mark homework and give written or verbal feedback.

Some experience of creative writing.
This Advanced Writing Course is for those with experience of creative writing, preferably including a related class and/or work-shopping (sharing your writing with others and both giving and receiving constructive feedback) - though it is fine if this has been minimal. -The course would suit those wanting to test and enhance their ideas as well as continue to push forward with writing aspirations.
