About this course

We (Kentmindfulness) have developed a programme of Mindfulness sessions that is flexible and time friendly. We acknowledge and recognise that in today’s busy schedules it is not always easy to access and commit to a course that runs within a limited timescale.
Each session has been designed to offer the student skill and technique which can be utilised straight away.
Each term includes five sessions held once a fortnight which build together to form a whole course. Any session can be accessed during any of the terms.
Mindfulness is useful in so many ways – helping anxieties, restlessness, pain, communication etc. Regular practice ensures that it becomes a way of life with a less scattered mind that doesn’t ponder on the past and worry about the future. This is recognised as being in the present moment – but in the meantime we all have to continue with busy times.

Some people may choose to attend sessions more than once, or to use the sessions as more formal practice sessions – they of course are very welcome alongside new students, as sharing ideas is very useful to everyone.

The title of this session is:-
The Benefit of being in the Present Moment.

Learning Goal;
To understand the benefits of learning to be in the present moment rather than pondering on the past and worrying about the future. Beginning to recognise that there are physical links with thinking minds

Learning Goal:
To enhance good feelings towards oneself and start to develop kindness towards yourself and to be connected to your body and begin to develop an awareness of Self in the present moment.

How will I be taught?

Some of the session will involve discussion about Mindfulness and the present moment and there will be guided exercises which will give students the opportunity to learn the skills and techniques involved.

We will encourage students to practice the learned techniques regularly and share any information regarding the technique that they may have already acquired.

Information and instruction for each session is outlined separately to enable the student to be informed and make their attendance decision and to keep track of their progress through a course.

What do I need to bring with me?

For this session, please bring with you a mat or blanket, a cushion or pillow as there will be part of the session where you will lie on the floor.
