How will I be taught?
This course will be taught using a variety of teaching methods including demonstrations, instruction, one to one guidance, and group discussions.
Your tutor will encourage and advise on a 1-1 basis where necessary, however be aware that students will be working on different individual projects and class numbers can be 1-12 at times.
You will complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) at the second session, this will establish your starting point and will aid your development throughout the course whilst learning new or improving on current skills. This learning plan will be revisited throughout the course. In addition to this you will receive one to one support and feedback during each lesson.
Please let us know if you require special learning support to enable you to take part in the course. Please note as with all our craft courses, good manual dexterity is needed
What do I need to bring with me?
A well equipped sewing kit to include large and small scissors, hand and machine needles, seam ripper, tape measure, pins, threads. Paper scissors, ruler, notebook, pencil and rubber. As the course continues you will need to buy paper patterns, fabric and haberdashery- The tutor will give advice on these at the first session
Please note that with all our craft courses , specialist equipment can be costly. Please do not buy anything until you are sure the course is running

This course at Tonbridge AEC is for anyone who would like to learn how to use a sewing machine and learn new or improve your dressmaking skills.
