How will I be taught?
The tutor will use a variety of teaching methods including demonstration, one to one guidance, group discussions and critiques.
What do I need to bring with me?
Students will need to bring small sewing equipment, such as sharp scissors for cutting fabric, pins, needles, a tape measure, chalk fabric pencil, sewing threads and a folder, paper and pens for notes and hand-outs. You will need a darning foot for your machine. You may need to provide further materials but please do not purchase anything until you have spoken to the tutor during the first session.
The tutor will have a selection of items for sale, such as zips, cotton calico, piping cord, some threads, wadding and interfacings.
There are a few sewing machines at the centre to use, but it is advisable to bring your own if possible. You will need a free embroidery (darning) foot compatible with your machine
What can I do next?
Your tutor will be able to advise.
