About this course

THIS COURSE WILL BE DELIVERED ONLINE VIA ZOOM
Perhaps still a novice in writing, or you may be a more competent writer who wants to try new techniques and styles? The Creative writing for All course in Maidstone will develop your skills and enjoyment as a writer by exploring a range writing techniques and styles. Under the friendly guidance of the tutor, you will have the opportunity to produce a variety of written pieces, including fiction, poetry and drama, that will help you to shape your own personal work.

By the end of the course you will be able to:
Explore new routes to creativity that will enhance your writing
Selectively use writing techniques to create a variety of effects
Improve your written pieces through effective revision and editing
Collaborate creatively, sharing constructive feedback with other writers in a friendly and supportive environment.

How will I be taught?

This course will be delivered online. Students will join the class from home and be able to exchange and in interact with other learners as they would in the classroom (speaking, listening, writing in the chat box). This measure is dictated by circumstances and the course will be delivered back in the classroom as soon as possible. Each session will include selected readings, discussion, tutor input, writing tasks and peer review.

You will be given oral and written feedback from the tutor, oral feedback from peer review, and opportunities to self-assess throughout the course. You can manage your progress through your Individual Learning Plan which will record your achievements.

Pen and dedicated writing notebook.

What do I need to join the course

Everyone who loves reading, writing and creative thinking is very welcome to join.
Beginners and more experienced writers are welcome. You should be willing to try new approaches to writing, to develop your own creative potential, and to encourage others in the group too.
You can access the class from your computer equipped with a camera and a microphone, from a laptop (where the camera and microphone should be built-in), a tablet or a smartphone. Before each lesson, the tutor will send you by email essential lesson information/handouts for you to consult in advance, and before the class starts, the tutor will have sent you by email an invitation to join, which will be a simple weblink to click.
