How will I be taught?
Tutors will use a variety of teaching methods including one to one guidance and critiques through email. You will keep a sketchbook/notebook to record goals, ideas, processes and progress to use later and keep a record of your progress in your individual learning plan, ILP, that you will share electronically with your tutor. The tutor will also send out relevant videos of techniques that enable you to be successful in your studies.
What do I need to bring with me?
Any materials you already have paints, pencils and an A3 sketchbook would be a good starting point. An apron is essential for any Art course just in case you are a messy painter especially if painting on the dining table at home.
What can I do next?
Further higher level Art courses or an Art History course to support your learning in the art room.
What do I need to join the course
Be confident in your painting and creative work and like a challenge to see what you can do. It is not a course for a beginner or for those looking for a painting skills course as the course assumes you have experience of colour mixing and painting. If you unsure if this is the course for you please contact the Curriculum Leader in the centre who will be able to advise you further about the course.
