How will I be taught?
The focus will be on speaking and listening. Some reading and writing will also be included. Pronunciation and Italian culture are an integral part of the course. The course will be conducted mainly in the foreign language. Learners will work through different activities individually, in pairs and in small groups, using a variety of learning methods and resources (role-play and games etc).
What do I need to bring with me?
There is no course book. Students will need to bring a pen and paper and an A4 ring binder for handouts, although we advise students not to buy anything until after the first session.
What can I do next?
There will be an opportunity to set up a follow on course if enough students want to continue in the summer, after which the next appropriate follow-on course is an Intermediate Plus course. The tutor will be able to advise or check www.kentadulteducation.co.uk.
What do I need to join the course
For anybody who is looking to improve the practical speaking and listening skills needed to cope with a range of real life situations more complex than those at Beginners Plus level.
This course is for all students who have some knowledge of the language, have traveled to Italy or have attended Italian Beginners Plus courses. Students need to either have completed one of our Beginners or have studied the language for approximately 100 hours and who can express themselves and understand simple information relating to personal, work or social matters.
If you are unsure carry out our self-assessment test available on www.kentadulteducation.co.uk. The assessment provides a score to help you chose the best course for you. If still unsure, speak to us or to a Curriculum Leader.
