How will I be taught?
The course will include discussions in small and larger groups and some work on a one-to-one basis.
The tutor will select various methods to help students develop their skills; they may include tutor demonstrations, practical activity and an exhibition of the tutor’s work.
Students will be encouraged to share ideas throughout the course and to participate in a class project which started in January 2019.
The tutor will give one to one feedback on your work and you will keep an individual learning plan which will record your progress.
What do I need to bring with me?
Students will be expected to provide their own materials, threads, paints and stitching tools as appropriate to the techniques taught. The tutor may have various items for sale and may also provide some materials for which there will be a small charge.
You may like to bring a notebook and pencil and/or a camera to record ideas and recommendations and to document your progress. You may photograph the tutor’s work for learning purposes only.
You will need the usual sewing equipment. If there is anything more specific for the first lesson the tutor will be in touch with you. We advise students not to purchase equipment, books or materials until the course is confirmed.
