About this course

This drawing course will allow you to develop your skills in the subject.

We will work on observational drawings of still life objects for the first two sessions using pencils, putty rubbers and blending stumps.
We will then progress to using charcoal for larger scale drawings of a landscape and a portrait for two weeks
We will use pen, ink and wash for the final two sessions before Christmas, drawing from a choice of wildlife imagery and / or landscape scenes.

How will I be taught?

There will be group and individual tuition.

What do I need to bring with me?

Students need to provide their own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. Your tutor will advise you of where to buy reasonably priced art materials on your first lesson.

All students should bring a sketchbook of at least A4 size, preferably with a hard cover and containing good quality cartridge paper and a selection of pencils B to 6B. A putty rubber, a pack of blending stumps, some willow charcoal, some black drawing ink or ink pens and a couple of brushes will be useful. If you are unsure about what equipment you need to buy, please wait until the first session so that the tutor can advise you.

What can I do next?

Another drawing and painting course.

What do I need to join the course

Everyone is welcome to join this course.
