How will I be taught?
The practical element of this course will take place at the Adult Education centre and you will need to complete 2 client case studies with 2 treatments each. You must expect at least four hours homework per week which will mainly comprise of practising the Massage skills and routine, case studies with some background reading to consolidate learning. You must attend all sessions.
At the end of the course you will also be assessed on the practical element. On successful completion of the online theory, the practical course and the case studies, students will receive a certificate for a GTi Indian Head Massage certificate which is acceptable for insurance purposes with The Guild of Beauty Therapists and other insurance companies.
You will also earn 29 CPD points which will automatically be uploaded into your CPD Diary on the GTi website.
Teaching methods will include demonstration, lecture input, discussion and time for question and answer sessions. Students are required to undertake a programme of case studies which involves giving treatments and writing up the results. These usually take place outside teaching hours. Progress is monitored at all stages.
What do I need to bring with me?
You will need to bring a model to work on every week, plus your notes.
1 bath sheet, oil if required, wipes, black top and trousers.
Short nails are essential.
What do I need to join the course
You must complete the online Anatomy and Physiology and the Professional Standards courses prior to the start of this course. You will be given the information on how to access the course content following a successful initial assessment process. Please arrange to complete assessments at your local centre.
You will need to register with the Guild which will cost £25.00.
