How will I be taught?
The course will be taught in a friendly but focused atmosphere, where your individual needs are catered for. Your tutor will use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and ensure that you achieve your full potential. Teaching and learning are carried out through formally taught sessions, discussion, group work, and supported with role play, task sheets and resource books, practice papers, home study, feedback and evaluation.
What do I need to bring with me?
Notebook, pens, pencils and a folder as you will be required to keep a folder of your work.
What can I do next?
This course can enable you to progress to higher levels of Functional Skills* (if appropriate) and GCSE* (if appropriate) or other study with Kent Adult Education. What do I need to join the course
At the first session of the course, the tutor will set out the commitment necessary to pass your Functional Skills examination. Functional Skills is suitable if you are seeking employment or career advancement, wishing to help your children with school work or just looking for a new challenge. It is also a valuable stepping stone if you want to study GCSE in the future. Please note that you should be able to follow spoken and written instructions, read handouts/exercises and take part in group discussions.
