How will I be taught?

Each class will start in the Community Room at The Beaney, where the drawing activity and learning objective for that day will be demonstrated and explained. This will be followed by a question and answer session to ensure good understanding. You may produce some drawings in the Community Room, but the main aim is to take what you have been taught and practise in the galleries where you will enjoy gathering visual information and generating ideas for further drawing. There will be plenty of one to one guidance and feedback, and at the end of each session students will have the opportunity to share their ideas and experiences with a view to learning from each other.

What do I need to bring with me?

Students should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, a 2B pencil and an eraser to the first session. Your tutor will advise you on buying any additional materials, and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements.
