Easter Fun with Family Learning

Easter Fun Brings Families Together at Thistle Hill Community Centre

Thistle Hill Community Centre was buzzing with colour, laughter and creativity as families came together for a joyful Easter crafts session delivered by Kent Adult Education's Family Learning team.

More than 15 local families attended the free workshop, which gave children and parents the chance to enjoy quality time together while getting creative. Side by side, families made a range of Easter-themed crafts, including bunnies, fluffy chicks and cheerful Easter sheep, all in a relaxed and friendly environment.

The session was designed to make learning fun, informal and accessible. Parents were encouraged to take part alongside their children, helping to build confidence, creativity and communication through shared activities. For many families, it was a valuable opportunity to slow down, connect and enjoy learning together outside of a classroom.

One parent shared their experience, saying it was "a fun and enjoyable day making crafts with my daughter" - a simple reflection of how Family Learning activities can strengthen family relationships while supporting children's development.

Events like this also help bring communities together. Families had the chance to meet new people, chat and support one another, creating a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the heart of Family Learning. Children proudly took home their handmade crafts, while parents left feeling inspired and positive.

Family Learning courses from Kent Adult Education offer much more than practical activities - they provide opportunities for parents and carers to support their children's learning, gain new skills and build confidence in a friendly, supportive setting. Whether it's creative workshops, confidence-building sessions or learning through play, there's something for every family to enjoy together.
