ESOL for 16-18 Year Olds
Build your confidence in English and take your next step
Our ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) courses are designed for young people aged 16-18 who want to improve their English skills and move forward into education, training or work.
Whether you're just starting to learn English or looking to develop your existing skills, this programme will help you build confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing. You'll learn in a supportive and friendly environment, guided by experienced tutors who understand your individual goals and starting point.
As part of KAE Future Pathways, this programme is about more than language learning. You'll also develop important life, study and employability skills to help you progress to further education, apprenticeships or employment, giving you a strong foundation for your future. Subject to eligibility, you may qualify for financial support with travel.

What are ESOL courses?
- English for Speakers of Other Languages courses support learners with reading, writing and speaking English
- Our ESOL for 16-18 year old courses are 3 days a week, full academic year courses
- They are designed for 16-18 year olds who want to learn English as a second language
- They provide an opportunity to progress into other study programmes with KAE Future Pathways or other further education providers
- They are an opportunity to participate in team building activities

How can an ESOL course help me?
- ESOL entry level in Reading, Writing and Speaking qualifications with an internationally recognised exam board
- Functional Skills Maths qualification with an internationally recognised exam board
- The opportunity to gain a certificate in An Introduction to First Aid
- An Introduction to IT
- Careers education, information, advice and guidance to help you create a CV and write application forms
- It will help you gain the life skills required in your future career and help with living in the UK
