Who can join this course

This course is for anyone who would like to explore the printmaking artform or thinking of setting up their own studio. This is not a course for a beginner to the subject. You will explore your own printmaking practise with a tutor who can guide you through this process.

Is this course for me

This is not a course for a beginner but for students who want to continue exploring and developing printmaking as their main creative output.

Course aims

By the end of the course you should be able to:

* Identify the material and equipment needed for mono printing
* Produce a suitable design for Intaglio printing
* Demonstrate practical knowledge of each stage Intaglio printing
* Critically evaluate your choice of materials, tools and techniques through a group or individual processes
* Explain the health and safety considerations for all resources and tools used

You will need an apron or overall as printing is a messy art form. The inks for the course are provided but the specialist papers and plates for the course are to be provided by the student.

This course is scheduled to not be running on the following dates:

From 1st August 2024, the Department for Education (DfE) require that learners attending this course must identify their primary purpose for learning. This course is not available for learners whose main aim is to learn a hobby, or for leisure/pleasure.
