Kent Adult Education GCSE courses will start in September 2025 and will run until the exams at the end of May/start of June 2026. We use the AQA examination board. To be eligible for a place on one of our English GCSE courses, in addition to passing an assessment, you must meet the Adult Skills Fund eligibility rules in relation to residency and age. You must be aged 19 or older on 31st August 2025. Anyone aged 18 or under on 31st August 2025, will need to be referred to our 16-18 Study Programme Team. You must meet the entry requirements for the course
- You must be a UK national, or an Irish national, or an EEA national with pre-settled or settled status under the EU Settlement scheme
- You must have been resident in the UK or an EEA country continuously for the 3 years preceding the start date of your course. For learners living in the Greater London Authority area only you must have valid permission to live in the UK for at least 12 months in duration from the start date of your course
- If you are seeking asylum, you must be currently living in the UK and applied for asylum at least 6 months prior to the beginning of the learning programme
- You must be aged 19 or over as at the 31st August 2024 for courses in the 2024/25 academic year
- You must agree to commit to and complete an Individual Learning Plan in agreement with your course tutor
