Unlock Your Future: Discover 2025/26 ESOL Courses at Kent Adult Education

In today's interconnected world, the ability to communicate confidently in English is more than just a skill - it's a gateway to opportunity. Whether you're looking to improve your job prospects, support your children's education or simply feel more at home in your community, Kent Adult Education's 2025/26 ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) courses are here to help you thrive.

For many adults living in the UK whose first language is not English, navigating daily life can be challenging. From understanding doctor's instructions to applying for a job or helping children with homework, language barriers can limit opportunities and independence.

That's where ESOL comes in. These courses are designed to help learners improve their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in English. But they offer much more than just language instruction - they build confidence, foster community and open doors to employment, education and civic participation.

Elementary Courses - This level is suitable for learners who can already introduce themselves, describe their daily routine and their likes and dislikes. Depending on the course, you will learn to read longer texts and be able to identify the purpose of various texts. You will start to use past and future tenses and will learn to write short letters and emails. You will engage in short forms of social communication.

Pre-intermediate Courses - This level is suitable for intermediate level learners. Depending on the course, you will develop your ability to talk, read and write about events in the past, present and future.

Intermediate Courses - This level is suitable for intermediate learners. You will build on your existing knowledge and develop more complex language skills. You will learn to express yourself more clearly and confidently in both spoken and written English, depending on the course.

Upper-intermediate Courses - This level is suitable for intermediate learners who already have a very good command of English in all skills, but want to refine their skills further. You will focus on advanced grammar, vocabulary and conversation techniques to achieve fluency.

Greater Independence

From booking appointments to reading letters from school, ESOL learners gain the ability to manage everyday tasks without relying on others.

I have learnt a lot from you [ESOL tutor] and I can't imagine that my English would progress very well without your teaching.

ESOL Learner

Every lesson was interesting in its own way, including history, traditions, holidays and customs of this wonderful country and much more. I still don't have enough time to do everything, but I am trying to improve my English and recently decided to stop speaking Ukrainian at home and it has helped me a lot in speaking.

I know that my success is the result of your [class tutor] dedication, experience and excellent teaching. I'm sincerely grateful for the honest, professional and supportive way you taught us - I've truly learned a lot.
