Is this course for me

Intensive GCSE maths runs for a few months between January and June 2026. It is a fast paced course, two sessions a week with a requirement for significant self study. There are also a couple of Saturday face to face sessions as part of the course. The course requires commitment and organisation to complete the content in such a short period of time. Initial assessments prior to the course will need to be booked and places will be offered where the scores indicate learners have the underpinning skills in maths to do an intensive GCSE.

Course aims

By the end of the course you should be able to:

* Be able to develop fluent knowledge, skills and understanding of mathematical methods and concepts
* Be able to acquire, select and apply mathematical techniques to solve problems
* Be able to reason mathematically, make deductions and inferences and draw conclusions
* Be able to comprehend, interpret and communicate mathematical information in a variety of forms appropriate to the information and context

You will need a laptop or computer with good Internet connection, a working microphone and camera. You should have a scientific calculator (make and model to be advised by tutor), geometry set (ruler, set square, protractor). You may be advised to buy some texts, your tutor will advise.

You can progress onto A level maths or higher level study with Kent Adult Education or other learning providers.
