Who can join this course
Our ESOL courses are FREE and funded by the Department for Education.
To be eligible to enrol and attend our courses you must have lawful permission to reside in the UK and be ordinarily resident in the UK at the course start date.
Dependent on your individual circumstances, you will be required to show evidence of your residency status before you enrol and attend courses with us.
Acceptance on a KAE Skills ESOL course does not constitute an immigration sponsorship and no Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) certificate will be issued.
Before enrolling on an ESOL course, you will need to create a learner account online, complete your residency check and then book an initial assessment to determine the most suitable course for you.

Is this course for me
The course is for students who already have some basic English skills and who may have completed Entry 2 ESOL. It is not for complete beginners. Please note, this course will take place at F51 Skate Park, Tontine Street. CT20 1SD.
Dictionary, ring binder for handouts and homework, paper and pen. If you are studying online ESOL, you will need a laptop or computer with good Internet connection, a working microphone and camera.

From 1st August 2024, the Department for Education (DfE) require that learners attending this course must identify their primary purpose for learning. This course is not available for learners whose main aim is to learn a hobby, or for leisure/pleasure.
Assessment is needed before joining this course. Please contact your local centre to complete an application.
As part of your funding agreement, you must attend at least 85% of your lessons, complete any required self study and all necessary qualifications you are enrolled on. You may be withdrawn if you do not attend regularly. If you have a pre arranged commitment booked during term time, please contact your tutor to catch up on any missed work.
