Who can join this course

All Digital Skills courses are funded by the Department for Education (DFE) and are FREE to eligible learners.
To be eligible to enrol and attend our courses you must have lawful permission to reside in the UK and be ordinarily resident in the UK at the course start date.

Dependant on your individual circumstances, you may be required to show evidence of your residency status before you can enrol and attend courses with us.

Acceptance on a KAE Skills Digital Skills course does not constitute an immigration sponsorship and no Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) certificate will be issued.

Is this course for me

This course is ideal if you have little to no Excel skills or would like to improve your confidence. The Tutor will start with an introduction to the Excel workspace and slowly introduce additional skills and tools.

Dictionary, ring binder for handouts and homework, paper and pen.

You will also need to be able to access Zoom or Microsoft Teams from your computer. It is normal practice to have your camera on at the start of the lesson and for any engagement/breakout sessions if however you are unable to do so please inform your Tutor ahead of the session.

Once you have completed this course you can progress onto the Excel - Intermediate course or alternatively attend a different Digital Skills subject. There are a variety of courses offered by Kent Adult Education and we encourage you to look for those which will interest you.

This course is scheduled to not be running on the following dates:

From 1st August 2024, the Department for Education (DfE) require that learners attending this course must identify their primary purpose for learning. This course is not available for learners whose main aim is to learn a hobby, or for leisure/pleasure.

Assessment is needed before joining this course. Please contact your local centre to complete an application.

To get the most out of your course we recommend you attend at least 85% of your sessions. If you do have a pre-arranged commitments booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcome.
