Who can join this course

Response courses are for those aged 19 and above, who are unemployed or low-waged, live in Kent and looking to progress into employment, volunteering, start a learning journey or improve their wellbeing.
Courses are funded by the Department for Work and Pensions as part of the Tailored Learning element of the Adult Skills Fund. Learners must be 19 at the start of the academic year to be eligible for funding.

To be eligible to enrol and attend our courses you must have lawful permission to reside in the UK and be ordinarily resident in the UK at the course start date.

Is this course for me

This qualification is designed to provide knowledge and understanding of food allergens and foods that commonly cause intolerances. It covers the importance of effectively communication the information regarding allergenic ingredients to customers, and how staff can minimise the risk of cross-contamination.

Course aims

By the end of the course you should be able to:

* Understand the characteristics and consequences of food allergies and intolerances
* Understand procedures for identifying and controlling contamination from allergenic ingredients
* Understand procedures for the accurate communication of allergen information to consumers
