You must meet the below requirements to be able to enrol through the online portal:
- You must be ordinary resident in the UK at the start date of the course - Ordinary resident means you live in the UK and have chosen to live here for a settled purpose
- You must be a British citizen
- You must be aged 19 or over as at the 31st August 2025 for courses in the 2025/26 academic year
- You must agree to commit to and complete an Individual Learning Plan in agreement with your course tutor
If you do not meet these criteria you may still be able to enrol on one of our courses but you will need to contact us to support you to do so. Details of how to get in contact will be provided by clicking "I confirm I DO NOT meet all the criteria above".

Who can join this course
Kent Family Learning courses and workshops are free, parents, carers and grandparents, who are aged 19 years and above and who live in Kent and are intended to help create a better family life.
We would like to be able to offer them to as many people in Kent as possible so we limit enrolment to 3 courses per academic year per person.
However, if you have a reason why you should be permitted to do additional courses, and are able to commit time for your attendance, please contact Business Support on 03000 415888 or email businesssupportteam@kent.gov.uk
Non attendance on courses means that another person could have benefited from your place.
All courses are funded by the Department for Education (DFE) and are free to eligible learners.
To be eligible to enrol and attend our courses you must have lawful permission to reside in the UK and be ordinarily resident in the UK at the course start date.
Dependant on your individual circumstances, you may be required to show evidence of your residency status before you can enrol and attend courses with us.

Is this course for me
Welcome to Seasonal Crafts - a magical journey where families come together to celebrate the joy of togetherness through creativity and craft!
In this session, participants will immerse themselves in the creative spirit as they create cherished mementos and beautiful crafts inspired by various seasonal or cultural occasions.
During the workshop, families will have the opportunity to work together to make a variety of seasonal craft items, including ornaments, decorations, and cards. They might celebrate cultural occasions such as Christmas, Diwali, Easter or Autumn with a variety of exciting creations while sharing stories and traditions as they engage in crafting.
Led by experienced tutors, this workshop provides a warm and welcoming environment where families can bond, learn, and create together. Suitable for children aged 3-11, Seasonal Crafts promises a delightful and memorable experience for the whole family.
Course aims
This course will offer:
* Make something either 2D or 3D from paper (ideas may include greeting cards, printed wrapping paper or seasonal projects)
* Create a craft using new design ideas
* Learners will work together as a family
* Describe 2 ways of expressing creative potential
* Building relationships within the family/community
Since this course can run over different time frames, the aims will be amended to fit in with the time allocation and the learner requirements.

For face-to-face sessions, we will provide the resources, but you are welcome to bring additional items if you would like to.

From 1st August 2024, the Department for Education (DfE) require that learners attending this course must identify their primary purpose for learning. This course is not available for learners whose main aim is to learn a hobby, or for leisure/pleasure.
