By empowering our students to become confident, imaginative, and adaptable learners, we aim to develop students' curiosity, resilience, and adaptability, preparing them for future challenges, opportunities, and personal development.

Is this course for me
Would you like to develop your sugar flower making skills further? In this course you will learn to make a wired floral spray. We will make a selection of leaves for example: Ivy, Eucalyptus and Rose. Flowers to be included will be Roses, Hydrangeas and filler flowers. Each week we will make a new flower/leaf, which will be coloured and dusted to give a realistic finish. Final week; wiring all components into a spray.
PLEASE NOTE: There is written coursework to accompany the making of this spray, which is part of the course, please let the tutor know if you require support.
Course aims
By the end of the course you should be able to:
* Show how to colour and roll out paste finely and evenly
* Demonstrate how to make 3 different wired petals and leaves and assemble a multi layered flower
* Demonstrate how to colour and dust flowers/foliage to give a lifelike appearance
* Critically evaluate your choice of materials, tools and techniques through a group or individual processes

This course is scheduled to not be running on the following dates:

From 1st August 2024, the Department for Education (DfE) require that learners attending this course must identify their primary purpose for learning. This course is not available for learners whose main aim is to learn a hobby, or for leisure/pleasure.
