Who can join this course

This course is aimed at those who have completed a number of higher level Jewellery courses or have previous experience of Working in Jewellery Courses and are thinking of setting up their own jewellery studio.

Those with no experience of Jewellery Courses should consider our range of Beginners courses as this course is not for the beginner to the subject.

By empowering our students to become confident, imaginative, and adaptable learners, we aim to develop students' curiosity, resilience, and adaptability, preparing them for future challenges, opportunities, and personal development.

Course aims

By the end of the course you should be able to:

* Explain the considerations for using scrap silver/offcuts when casting
* Demonstrate how to set up a cast/mould correctly 
* Explain how to identify and achieve the optimum molten state for pouring sterling silver and how to identify and troubleshoot issues with silver that doesn’t appear to achieve that state
* Critically evaluate your choice of materials, tools and techniques through group or individual processes
* Explain the health and safety considerations for all resources and tools used

Please bring a notepad and pen/pencil to your first lesson.

Unless otherwise stated, you will be advised in your first class what resources you will need. If you do have equipment appropriate to the subject, please bring them.
